Storm-Ready Home Checklist

In the Tampa Bay area, we design with heat, humidity, heavy rain, wind, and storm preparation in mind. Storm readiness is not one product or one line item. It is a chain of connected decisions from the site to the roof, openings, drainage, and interior systems.

As a Tampa Bay area home builder, we approach every project with local conditions, practical budgets, and the way Florida families actually live in mind.

Water Management

At Phill's Home Construction, we look at lot grading, finished-floor elevation, swales, downspout discharge, gutters where appropriate, drainage paths, and how water moves away from the foundation. It is also important that we note transitions, flashing, and sealants because small water entry points can create large repair problems.

The Roof System

The roof covering, underlayment, edge details, vents, flashing, and structural connections should be working together. So, the connection between roof, walls, and foundation matters as much as the visible roof covering. Diligently, we follow applicable code and engineering requirements, then make sure installation details are not lost during construction.

Days After the Storm

A storm-ready home helps the people inside recover faster and identify problems before they become hidden damage. That includes generator readiness, electrical panel capacity, refrigerations, communications, and more! You can never be too careful when it comes to hurricane season.

Our Legacy

Tampa Bay families deserve homes planned with care, strength, and local knowledge. We are here for you before, during, and after the build—and we are proud to be your family legacy home builder.
